Artist of the Week: Miranda Lambert
Although her latest album was released in 2009, Lambert continued to be a big contender for country music awards. At the recent 2011 ACM Awards, she won four out of six nominations excluding Entertainer of the Year. She has announced a new album to be recorded this spring in addition to a TV show project which marks her first involvement in scripted television. Lambert acts as a producer to an ABC Family show which would mirror her childhood in Texas.
Not stopping there, Miranda has also formed an all-girl trio called Pistol Annies. "I started this new project, and we're gonna debut on the Girls' Night Out [special]," the songbird told The Boot backstage at ACM Awards. "And I can't say too much about it, because I want it to be a surprise." The group features her pals and songwriting partners, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.

In a recent interview, Jennifer discussed about battling insecure thoughts. "I know it's hard for women to tap into that feeling of self-worth. Nicole Scherzinger Isn't 'In Touch' with Former Pussycat Doll Bandmates
The 32-year-old singer, who starred in the band with Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton, Kimberley Wyatt and Jessica Sutta before leaving in 2010, feels “empowered” to have left the group and insists she feels “happy” for all her former bandmates.
She said: “A few of the girls left the group and I was like, ‘Am I the only Doll standing here?!’
“We’re not in touch. We’re all busy, and I’m happy for everyone. Once all the girls went off, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to go and to my music and what I love. It’s been liberating and amazing. It’s empowering to come into your own in that way.”
Nicole also confirmed the majority of her shelved debut solo album, which was initially intended for release in 2007, ended up on a Pussycat Dolls LP. She told Attitude magazine: “There just wasn’t the right timing before, but I was fortunate enough to be able to put a lot of those tracks on the next PCD album.”

Lady GaGa to Play Mary Magdalene in 'Judas' Music Video
Playing opposite GaGa will be "Hawaii Five-0" actor Norman Reedus. The 42-year-old star is going to be the "Judas", and Laurieann has nothing but good words for him. "He was so prolific," she said before promising Little Monsters that the video will be "badass."
"I think that most people are already thinking that Gaga and the blasphemy and they're premeditating the approach and I think they'll be very shocked to find out how huge and really groundbreaking the message is and how freeing the message is for all the right reasons," she said. "And it's really going to shock the world."
Lifted from GaGa's May 23 studio release "Born This Way", "Judas" will be released on April 19. Its accompanying music video is expected to follow soon. GaGa filmed it over the weekend, and shared it with her Twitter followers, "Directing Judas video with my sister @boomkack is the most exciting artistic moment of my career. It's the greatest work we've done. Day 2."

Lady GaGa's Mary Magdalene Role Is Irrelevant, Catholic League Says
He added, "I find GaGa to be increasingly irrelevant. She thinks she is going to be groundbreaking. She is trying to ripoff Christian idolatry to shore up her talentless, mundane and boring performances. Another ex-Catholic whose head is turned around."
"She is falling short. She wants to shock, does she actually believe her own BS?" Bill went on. "People have real talent, and then there is Lady GaGa. Is this the only way to jet up her performance? This isn't random, we are getting closer to Holy Week and Easter."
GaGa herself hasn't commented on that matter, but earlier this week in her "Gagavision No. 41" video message, she is seen confronting a fundamentalist male protester outside her concert. On her way to the concert venue, she stopped her car in front of the male, rolled down her window, and said, "Hi, I'm Lady GaGa."
When the man answered her coldly with "So?", she quickly countered him back, "I was thinking to myself, you obviously do care a little because you chose my concert." He then handed her a "Get out of hell free" card and added, "That's going to happen one day darling." Shrugging it off, she responded, "Well they better open up the gate."
Later, GaGa admitted that she felt disturbed by the encounter, saying "What I'm trying to understand is, there's 3000 people standing in my line, and nobody standing in your line. Who's goin' to hell?" She moreover said, "It just makes me sad that my fans have to see that. But I know it's just part of what I'm supposed to do."
Lifted from GaGa's May 23 studio release "Born This Way", "Judas" will be released on April 19. Its accompanying music video is expected to follow soon. Playing opposite GaGa in the video will be "Hawaii Five-0" actor Norman Reedus who is hired to tackle the role as Judas.

Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna to Perform on 'American Idol'
Another musical guest who is rumored to take the stage of next week's result show is Rihanna. Fresh from wowing country music fans at the CMA Awards with her "California King Bed" performance which featured Jennifer Nettles, the Bajan songstress is reportedly expected to sing the song again for the Fox singing contest.
Last Thursday, "American Idol" sent home Pia Toscano, leaving eight remaining contestants to battle for the top 7 next week. The elimination of the 22-year-old aspiring singer shocked some of the celebrities and the judges. Snooki of the "Jersey Shore", for one, tweeted, "Pia should have won the whole thing! I'm not watchin Idol anuymore. I'm with JLO on this one..."

Rihanna Forgives Her Abusive Father
But the Bajan beauty would still do anything for her father - because she accepts he's just a product of his own violent upbringing. She tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I actually feel really bad for my father. He was abused too - he got beat up by his step-dad when he was young."
"He has resentment toward women, because he felt like his mum never protected him, and unfortunately, my mother was the victim of that. I'm not giving him excuses. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I still blame him. But I understand the source."

'Femme Fatale' Becomes Britney Spears' Sixth Number One Album
Britney moved 276,000 copies of her new album to bury her valiant second-place competitor, Wiz Khalifa, who sold 197,000 copies of Rolling Papers. While the numbers are impressive, they aren't particularly special for Britney, whose 2008 album Circus sold 508,000 copies in its first week.

Taylor Swift Takes Things Slowly With Garrett Hedlund
One inside source dished before the pair enjoyed dinner together in Nashville, they have been "emailing for a while". The insider added, "She has actually spent time getting to know Garrett." It is reported that 26-year-old Garrett joined 21-year-old Taylor for the dinner at 8 P.M. He was back at his
The insider further noted that it was Taylor who "hinted they should get together". As for how the "You Belong with Me" hitmaker thinks of Garrett, the source said, "He's cute - and he's into country music! [She] likes that he's a normal guy." The "Country Strong" hunk was in town reportedly to record a CD.
More than a month before her low-key dinner with Garett, Taylor sparked dating rumor with Chord Overstreet. In late February, she was spotted joining the "Glee" hunk at Staples Center to watch a hockey game between the Kings and the Minnesota Wild. Chord himself has praised Taylor for her talent, but stressed, "We're just friends. I don't know where the time is to date these days."

'American Idol' Top 9 Recap: The Girls Back on the Map
It turned out the audience loved it and so did the judges. Steven Tyler said, "Every time you sing you bring another little piece of yourself to the party." Randy Jackson gushed, "Dude, there were Jacob moments all over that," adding that he liked the way Jacob went with his "moral conviction."
Haley Reinhart came out next, singing Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart" and channeling her inner rocker. Steven compared her to the real singer, saying "Janis gave the voice to rock and roll back in '68 and you did it again tonight," while Randy apparently thought she is back threatening other contestants, saying "Welcome back."
Bringing on his bass, Casey Abrams delivered his version of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" by Creedence Clearwater Revival after his "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" during rehearsal sounded like a rumba. He made a right choice as Jennifer Lopez said, "That's exactly where you belong. I'm paying top dollar to be in the front row."
Lauren Alaina did Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman", which Randy said one of the most difficult songs of the night. She seemed to nail it after will.i.am and Jimmy Iovine told her to find her "countroul", which is country and soul combined, as Randy said she did a "good job."
James Durbin slowed it down with George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Despite a few pitch problems, he earned praises from J.Lo and Randy who liked that he took chances and dug deep into his emotional side. James admitted to Ryan Seacrest that he'd been working on that song for years and that it really reminded him of his family.
Scotty McCreery did not want to leave his root, belting out Elvis Presley's "That's Alright, Mama" which has a combination of rock and country. He won girls' hearts with it, with some of them rushing to the stage at the end. Randy said, "Scotty is in it to win it," and the other judges thought it was good fun. J.Lo gave him a suggestion to try a little rap or hip-hop because she thinks he's got it in him.
Pia Toscano picked Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High", making J.Lo bounce on her seat. "There's a million guys, in a million bars, having a million drinks about you tonight," Steven said. Randy added, "You showed me what I already knew."
Stefano Langone went romantic with "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge. J.Lo loved it as she said, "I knew you had it in you," but Randy wasn't that impressed as he stated, "I liked it, but I wasn't jumping up and down."
Paul McDonald came the last, singing Johnny Cash's "Prison Blues". Jimmy advised him to sing it like he was "out of his bleeping mind." J.Lo called it a "perfect way to end the show, right in your lane," and Randy simply said, "Loved it!"

Deryck Whibley Feels Happier Post-Divorce From Avril Lavigne
Whibley admits the break-up was hard for him to deal with at the time, but now he's over his heartache, he's adamant it's made him a happier man. He tells Kerrang! magazine, "It was a very painful experience. I don't really want to get into it, but what I'll say about it is that, at the end of the day, it was good (for me). Tough things are good to go through because they make you who you are."
"What I realized from going through that experience is that people travel along at a certain level of happiness. Then you go down to a low that you never knew existed. But when you come back up, your happiness levels go higher than ever before. You realize it's made you happier than ever before. The pain raises the bar of happiness further down the line, at least with me anyway. (The divorce) was tough, but it's not tough anymore."

Lady GaGa Donates Proceeds of 'Born This Way' Remix to LGBT Community
The revamped track was released by GaGa in her Twitter. It features additional lines, "If I wanna make it country, baby, it's OK/ 'Cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way/ From London, Paris, Japan back to USA/ I was born on the road, I was born to be brave."
Lady GaGa is an avid supporter of gays and lesbians. Last month, she cut her exclusive ties with Target because she thought the U.S. giant retailer didn't have the same vision as hers to support the gay community.
"Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform," she stated. "Our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those groups."

Ke$ha to Guest Star on Nickelodeon's 'Victorious'
Reflecting the episode's title, the April 22 episode sees Victoria Justice's Tori and her gang participating in a Golden Ticket-like contest where fans have to piece together Ke$ha's name from letters at the bottom of ice cream containers. The winner who finds all the letters to Ke$ha's name first wins a personal, private concert from the pop act.
Ke$ha's real life brother, 11-year-old Louie, will also take part in the episode, playing a lynch-pin character who contributes to Tori and her friends' win.
"It's a private concert, and yeah, I will say that the costumes are awesome and there's definitely lots of glitter," Justice tells EW about the episode. "It was really fun to film. It's the first time on my show that we've had a successful radio artist perform on the show. Ke$ha's kind of edgier, and I think that it's cool to bring that element to the show."
Aside from her small screen stint, Ke$ha is scheduled to take the stage at Wango Tango music festival on May 14.
